Nuggets Force Game Seven Against Top-Seeded Thunder

Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets have forced a Game Seven in their second straight series. The Nuggets knocked off the Oklahoma City Thunder 119-107 in Game Six in Denver. Jokic finished just shy of a triple-double with 29 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists. The two teams will square off in a win-or-go-home Game Seven on Sunday in Oklahoma City. The winner advances to face the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference finals. The playoff action continues Friday with the New York Knicks playing host to the defending champion Boston Celtics in Game Six at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks lead the best-of-seven series 3-2.



Hurricanes Knock Out Capitals To Advance To Conference Finals

The Hurricanes are going to the conference finals. The Canes took down the Capitals in Game Five of their best of seven second round series. Carolina will face either the Panthers or Maple Leafs in the Eastern Conference Finals. Florida is up 3-2 and hosts Toronto for Game Six Friday. The Jets staved off elimination after shutting out the Stars in Game Six from Winnipeg. Dallas leads the series 3-2 and will host Game Six Saturday night. The Oilers have already clinched a spot in the Western Conference Finals.

In the NCAA Softball tournament today, the Saint Louis Billikens take on Arkansas, while the Eastern Illinois Panthers go up against Texas.



Springfield Falls To Amarillo
5/16/2025
The Springfield Cardinals surrendered three runs in the top of the ninth during a 5-4 loss to the Amarillo Sod Poodles at Hammons Field. RJ Yeager went three-for-four with two RBI's in the losing effort, while Osvaldo Berrios was charged with his third loss in relief. Tekoah Roby starts for the 17-and-19 Cardinals against Amarillo tonight.



Battlehawks Host Stallions

The St. Louis Battlehawks look to extend their winning streak to four games when they host the Birmingham Stallions at the Dome at America's Center tomorrow. The Hawks just earned a 19-9 win over the Memphis Showboats on the road last Sunday. St. Louis is 5-and-2 this season. Tomorrow's game kicks off at noon.



City Take On Minnesota

St. Louis City SC go for their first MLS win in over two months when they visit the Minnesota United at Allianz Field tomorrow night. City are coming off a 2-2 draw with Sporting KC on Wednesday. St. Louis is tied for 13th place in the Western Conference with 11 points. Tomorrow's match kicks off at 7:30PM.



Cardinals Visit Royals

The St. Louis Cardinals begin a weekend series against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium tonight. The Cardinals took two of three over the Philadelphia Phillies earlier this week. St. Louis is in second place in the NL Central at 24-and-20. Andre Pallante starts for the Cards tonight. First pitch is at 6:40PM.

Springfield Takes Down Amarillo
5/15/2025
The Springfield Cardinals scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh during a 7-5 win over the Amarillo Sod Poodles at Hammons Field. Ramon Mendoza hit a go-ahead home run during the inning, while Nathan Church and Chase Davis also homered in the victory. Pete Hansen earned his first win after allowing three earned runs and two unearned runs on six hits in seven innings. The 17-and-18 Cardinals host Amarillo again tonight.



City Draw Sporting KC

St. Louis City SC picked up a point with a 2-2 draw against Sporting KC at Energizer Park. Celio Pompeu and Cedric Teuchert both scored in the tie. City are tie for 13th place in the Western Conference with 11 points. They visit the Minnesota United on Saturday night at 7:30PM.



Cardinals Split Doubleheader With Phillies
5/15/2025
The St. Louis Cardinals went 1-and-1 against the Philadelphia Phillies in a double-header from Citizens Bank Park. The Cardinals had their nine-game winning streak snapped with a 2-1 loss in game one. Steven Matz surrendered two runs in the seventh and was charged with the loss in relief. St. Louis launched three home runs during a 14-7 win in the second game. Lars Nootbaar, Alec Burleson, and Masyn Winn all went deep, while Chris Roycroft picked up the win out of the bullpen. The Cardinals are in second place in the NL Central at 24-and-20. They take on the Royals tomorrow night.



Oilers Eliminate Golden Knights To Return To Conference Finals

The Oilers are back in the Western Conference Finals. Edmonton became the first team to clinch a spot in the conference finals after eliminating the Golden Knights with an overtime victory in Game Five. The Panthers are one win away from going back to the Eastern Conference Finals. The defending Stanley Cup champions blew out the Maple Leafs in Game Five of their best of seven second round series. Florida leads the series 3-2 and will host Toronto for Game Six Friday night. Two games are on the slate tonight. The Capitals trail the Hurricanes 3-1 entering Game Five in Washington. The Stars visit the Jets for Game Five also up 3-1.



Timberwolves Advance To West Finals

Another team has locked up a spot in the NBA's conference finals. The Timberwolves are heading back to the Western Conference finals for the second straight year following a 121-110 win over the Warriors in Game Five. In other action, the Celtics kept their season alive with a 127-102 victory over the Knicks in Game Five. The playoff action continues tonight with the Nuggets playing host to the Thunder in Game Six in the Mile High City. OKC leads the best-of-seven series 3-2.

Washington at Sullivan-Canceled-Unable to find umpires

Beau Flinn scattered 7 hits with 9 strikeouts and 1 walk in a complete game leading Fort Zumwalt North to a 2-0 win over Warrenton.  Flinn was also 3 for 3 at the plate.  The Panthers scored both runs in the first inning.  FZN improves to 13-11.  The Warriors drop to 20-6. 

Jake Collier pitched a complete game leading Pacific to a 13-3 win over Veritas.  Collier scattered 6 hits with 12 strikeouts and 1 walk over 6 innings.  He also doubled home 2 runs.  Connor Mooney was 3 for 3 with 2 runs and 4 rbi for the Indians who have won 11 straight to improve to 17-2.  Veritas drops to 9-10.  

Class 4 District 4 at St. Clair-First Round
St. James 3 Salem 1.  The Tigers move to 6-17 and will go against Owensville in the semifinal Monday. 

St. Clair 9 Cuba 3.  The Bulldogs improve to 12-11 and will go up against Sullivan in the semifinal Monday at 4:00.


Girls Soccer
Ella Kirk scored 2 goals leading Sullivan to a 4-3 win over Wright City.  Tessa Newman and Chloe Greife added 1 goal each for the Eagles, now 12-7.  The Wildcats drop to 10-8.

Springfield Rallies Past Amarillo
5/14/2025
The Springfield Cardinals scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth during a 7-2 win over the Amarillo Sod Poodles at Hammons Field. JJ Wetherholt tied the game with an RBI double, and Leonardo Bernal drove in the go-ahead run with a single. Bernal also homered in the victory, while Osvaldo Berrios earned his second win in relief. Pete Hansen starts for Springfield against Amarillo this morning.

Cardinals Game Against Phillies Gets Postponed

Yesterday's scheduled game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Philadelphia Phillies was postponed due to inclement weather at Citizen's Bank Park. The game will be made up during a split doubleheader today. Erick Fedde starts for the Cardinals in game one at 12:05PM, while Sonny Gray mans the rubber in the second game at 5:15PM.



NBA Playoff Recap

The NBA playoffs roll on. The Pacers locked up their spot in the Eastern Conference Finals with a 114-105 win over the Cavaliers in Game Five. In other action, the Thunder stormed back late to defeat the Nuggets 112-105 and take a 3-2 series lead. The action rolls on with a pair of Game Five's tonight. In the East, the Knicks are aiming to close out their series with a win over the defending champion Celtics. In the West, the Timberwolves will look to clinch a spot in the Western Conference Finals for a second straight season when they host the Warriors.



Stars Inch Closer To Conference Finals

The Stars are one win away from going to the Western Conference Finals. Dallas took down the Jets to take a 3-1 lead in its best of seven second round series. Game Five is Thursday night in Winnipeg. There are two games on Wednesday's schedule. The Maple Leafs are hosting the Panthers in Game Five with their series tied at two games apiece. Vegas is looking to avoid elimination when it hosts Edmonton for Game Five. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes hope to knock out the Capitals when they visit Washington for Game Five on Thursday.



High School Baseball-Wednesday, May 14th

Colin Applebaum allowed 2 runs on 6 hits with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in a complete game leading the Parkway Central Colts to a 5-2 win at Borgia.  James Huff homered with 2 runs and 2 rbi.  Jared Chorlins added a double with 2 rbi for the Colts, now 9-15.   Lane Mallinkrodt allowed 4 runs, 2 earned on 2 hits with 3 strikeouts and 2 walks over 4 2/3 innings in the loss.  He was also 2 for 3 with a double and 1 rbi.  The Knights drop to 13-12.  

Pacific rallied with 2 runs in the 6th in an 8-7 win over Timberland.  Connor Mooney was 1 for 3 with 2 rbi.  Colton Kossuth posted 3 hits, 2 doubles and 3 runs.  Grant Kossuth 3 hits and 1 run.  Grant Haddox added 2 hits and 2 runs.  Cohen Hoffmeyer pitched 4 innings for the win.  The Indians, now 16-2, have won 10 straight.  The Wolves drop to 18-9.  


Girls Soccer
Abby Schutte scored twice on a penalty kick and a free kick leading Borgia to a 2-1 win over Washington.  The Knights end the regular season 12-11.  The Blue Jays drop to 12-10-1.  

Ally McKinney scored 2 goals leading St. Clair to a 4-1 win over Wright City.  Lucy Moore logged all 4 assists for the Bulldogs, 10-6.  The Wildcats drop to 10-8.  


Boys Volleyball-Class 1 District 10 Championship at Warrenton-Borgia beat North Point in 5 to claim the first district title in program history.  Set five was 15-13.  Kayden Parmentier finished with 21 kills, Logan Bender added 20.  Harris Robinson posted 59 assists and 7 blocks and Jack Meyers 20 digs.  The Knights improve to 17-13-1 and advance to the sectional May 20th.  The Grizzlies end the season 25-7.



High School Sports-Tuesday, May 13th

Baseball
Washington rallied with a run in the 6th and a run in the 7th to walk-off St. Charles West 6-5.  Mason Theis and Ben Loesing posted 2 hits each and Colton Carrier scored 2 runs.  Theis pitched 6 1/3 innings in a no-decision.  Colton Warnecke pitched 2/3 of an inning and logged the win.  The Blue Jays have won 4 straight to improve to 10-18.  The Warriors drop to 14-11.  Marcus Lewis was the loser.  
 
Warrenton won both games of a doubleheader with Orchard Farm 10-0 and 6-4.  The Warriors finished 9-1 in the GAC North and are conference champs.  20-5 overall.

St. James snapped a five game skid with a 12-2 win over Bourbon.  The Tigers improve to 5-17.  

Girls Soccer
St. Charles edged Washington 1-0.  The loss drops the Blue Jays to 12-9-1.  Washington had won 4 straight.  

Francis Howell Central shutout Union 4-0.  Durbin, Gunnar, Henderson and Kluesner all scored for the Spartans, 11-5-2.  Union, 9-11-1, has lost 4 straight.   

St. Charles West beat Pacific 4-2.  Riley McGuire scored 2 goals for the Warriors, now 11-6-1.  Kennedy Fox and Kaitlin Payne scored for the Indians with Caroline Tomlinson and Taylor Snider posting the assists.  The Indians finish the regular season 12-7-2.  

Jada Adams scored 2 goals leading Sullivan to a 4-1 win at North County.  The Eagles improve to 11-7.

The Cardinals are still riding a long winning streak after taking down the Phillies 3-2 in their series opener from Philadelphia. Masyn Winn slugged a go-ahead, solo homer in the seventh inning. Kyle Leahy picked up the win in relief, and Ryan Helsley earned his eighth save of the season. St. Louis extended its winning streak to nine games.

Stars And Panthers Inch Closer To Cup

Two more teams inched one step closer to capturing the Stanley Cup. The Stars soared past the Jets in Game Three of its best of seven West second round series. Dallas now leads the series 2-1. Elsewhere, the Panthers evened their series against the Maple Leafs at two apiece after picking up a victory in Game Four. A pair of Game Fours are on the slate for tonight. The Hurricanes host the Capitals up 2-1, and the Oilers are hosting the Golden Knights leading their series 2-1.

Washington at Sullivan-Rained out-Rescheduled Thursday.

Bennett Parker pitched a complete game with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk leading Pacific to an 8-0 win at Windsor.  Grant Kossuth, Gavin Lane and Cayden Matthes all logged 2 rbi and Colton Kossuth added 2 hits and 3 runs.  The Indians have won 9 straight to improve to 15-2.

Hermann shutout Wellsville 11-0.  Bracksten Carr posted 2 hits with 3 rbi.  Evan Towery 2 hits, Nolan Ogroski 2 hits with 2 rbi.  Cole Traub struck out 9 over 4 innings for the win.  Hermann improves to 10-14.

A pair of teams from the area are headed to the NCAA Softball Tournament. The Saint Louis Billikens and Eastern Illinois Panthers each heard their programs called on Selection Sunday. Saint Louis will play in the Fayetteville Regional against Indiana, Oklahoma State, and Arkansas. Eastern Illinois is in the Austin Regional with Texas, Michigan, and UCF.

The Springfield Cardinals suffered a 6-2 loss against the Arkansas Travelers at Dickey-Stephens Park on Saturday. Sean Harney was charged with his first loss out of the bullpen, while Jeremy Rivas and Nathan Church each drove in a run. The 15-and-18 Cardinals host Amarillo tomorrow.



Battlehawks Take Down Memphis

The St. Louis Battlehawks are on a three-game winning streak after a 19-9 win over the Memphis Showboats at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. Max Duggan passed for 158 yards and a touchdown and added a 57 yards and a score on the ground. The 5-and-2 Battlehawks host Birmingham on Saturday.

Cardinals Blow Out Nationals
5/12/2025
The Cardinals completed the series sweep after blowing out the Nationals 6-1 in their finale from DC. Miles Mikolas earned the victory after striking out five over five-plus frames. Lars Nootbaar led off the game with his sixth home run of the season. St. Louis has now won eight straight games to improve to 22-and-19. The Cardinals send Matthew Liberatore to the mound against Philadelphia tonight.

Pacific won the Salem Tournament Saturday.
The Indians beat Salem 5-0, Mountain Grove 7-3 and Licking 6-3.  Pacific is now 14-2.

Washington won both games of a doubleheader with Holt 8-3 and 12-2. The Blue Jays improve to 9-18.  

Warrenton won both games of a doubleheader against Troy 8-4 and 10-4.  The Warriors move to 18-5.

Class 3 District at Crowne Point in Farmington
St. James qualified for state as a team, finishing 2nd with a score of 324.  Low score carded by Jackson Marcee-73-2nd place.

The East Central College Falcons (25-22-1) were triumphant over the M0berly Area Greyhounds 5-1 in the NJCAA Region 16 DII Championship. The title gives the Falcons a top seed heading into heading into next week’s district tournament at Taco Bell Field on the East Central College campus in Union, MO.



Springfield Sweeps Arkansas In Doubleheader

The Springfield Cardinals earned a pair of wins over the Arkansas Travelers in a doubleheader at Dickey-Stephens Park yesterday. Springfield crushed Arkansas 8-2 in the first game before beating the Travelers 5-1 in Game Two. The Cardinals improved to 14-and-16. They send Max Rajcic to the mound against Arkansas tonight.

Timberwolves Even Series With Warriors

The NBA conference semifinals are heating up. The Timberwolves stomped the Golden State Warriors 117-93 at home in Game Two in order to even up the best-of-seven series at one win apiece. The action rolls on with a pair of Game Three's tonight. In the East, the Indiana Pacers will look to take a commanding 3-0 series lead when they play host to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Out West, the Denver Nuggets host the Oklahoma City Thunder with the series tied 1-1.



Capitals, Oilers Secure Round Two Wins

One team from each conference earned wins in the Second Round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. In the East, the Capitals took down the Hurricanes from DC in Game Two to even their series. The Oilers edged the Golden Knights in OT out West to take a commanding, 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven series. A pair of games are on the slate tonight. The Maple Leafs hope to take a 3-0 East series stranglehold against the Panthers in Sunrise while the Jets try to even their West series against the Stars.

Kaleb Hoss doubled home Braxtyn Frankenberg with one out in the 8th inning and Borgia walked off Union 4-3.  Hoss was 2 for 4 and also posted the win in relief.  Frankenberg had 2 hits, Drew Eckhoff was 3 for 3 and Lane Mallinkrodt reached base 3 times and scored 2 runs.  Borgia has won 3 straight to improve to 13-11.  Union was led by Kasey Griffin, 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 runs.  Logan Hansel pitched a complete game and suffered the loss.  The Wildcats drop to 20-7.  

St. Clair beat New Haven 9-0.  The Bulldogs, now 11-11, have won 3 straight.  The Shamrocks drop to 7-8.

Leafs Take 2-0 Lead Over Panthers, Stars Up 1-0 On Jets

The Maple Leafs took care of business on home ice to start the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Toronto is leading its best of seven East semifinal series 2-0 after taking down the Panthers in Game Two. Mikko Rantanen remains on fire after leading the Stars to a victory in Game One of its West semifinal series against the Jets. Tonight, the home teams will be looking to bounce back from recent losses. The Capitals are hosting the Hurricanes for Game Two in Washington and the Golden Knights are taking on the Oilers in Las Vegas.



Knicks Shock Celtics Again, Thunder Crack Nuggets

The Eastern Conference is in shambles after the latest NBA playoff result. The Knicks are up 2-0 against the Celtics following another last-second road win from Boston. Both the C's and Cavaliers are down 0-2 despite holding home-court advantage. Out West, the Thunder cracked the Nuggets at home to even their series at a game apiece. Meanwhile, The Timberwolves look to tie up their West semis against the Warriors in Game Two from Minneapolis tonight.



Springfield Loses To Arkansas

The Springfield Cardinals gave up a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth during a 2-1 loss to the Arkansas Travelers at Dickey-Stephens Park. Luis Gastelum was charged with the loss in relief after surrendering a two-run walk-off single. Nathan Church drove in Springfield's lone run. The 12-and-16 Cardinals have a double-header against Arkansas tonight.



City Take Down Union Omaha

St. Louis City SC are moving on in the US Open Cup following a 2-nil win over Union Omaha from Energizer Park yesterday. Joey Zalinsky scored the first goal of the match in the 68th minute, and Joao Klauss added another score for good measure. City will take on the Minnesota United in the Round of 16 in two weeks. Meanwhile, St. Louis returns to regular season action with a match against San Diego FC on Saturday.



Cardinals Blank Pirates

The Cardinals finished off a three-game sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates with a 5-0 win from Busch Stadium. Sonny Gray struck out eight and allowed just two hits in seven scoreless innings to earn his fourth win. Jordan Walker and Masyn Winn each drove in a pair of runs in the victory. St. Louis is on a five-game winning streak. The Cardinals improved to 19-and-19. They visit the Nationals tomorrow night.

Union at Borgia-4:00 on the KLPW SPORTS STREAM-Postponed-Rescheduled Friday at 4:00.

Timberland walked off Washington 2-1 in 8 innings.  Washington used three pitchers.  Henry Vedder pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk.  Ben Loesing suffered the loss.  The Blue Jays were held to 4 hits.  Washington falls to 6-18 and 2-8 in the GAC.  The Wolves are 16-8 and 8-2.  

Jake Kirkpatrick allowed 1 run on 3 hits with 2 strikeouts and 2 walks over 5 innings leading Warrenton to an 11-1 win over St. Charles.  Ric Standley was 2 for 2 with 2 runs and 1 rbi.  Mason Thompson 2 for 2 with 3 rbi.  The Warriors move to 16-5 and 7-1 in the GAC. The Pirates drop to 12-13.  

South Callaway 9 Hermann 4.  Charlie Tyree led Hermann with 1 hit and 3 rbi.  Lane Kohlbusch was 2 for 2 with a triple.  Brackston Carr pitched 3 innings and suffered the loss.  The Bearcats drop to 9-14.  The Bulldogs improve to 13-10.  

Freshman Bo Robbins pitched 6 innings with 10 strikeouts and 2 walks leading St. Clair to a 2-0 win over Northwest.  The Bulldogs improve to 10-11 while the Lions slip to 5-17.  

Eugene beat Owensville 8-3.  The Dutchmen, now 10-9, had won 4 straight.  Eugene is 17-8.

Lutheran St. Charles at Sullivan-Cancelled

Linn shutout St. James 4-0.  The loss drops the Tigers to 4-15.  Linn is 8-15.

Girls Soccer
Borgia 8 Sullivan 1.  Anni Foss with the hat-trick.  Haylee Stieffermann logged 2 assits and Claire Turgeon posted 4 saves in net.  Borgia improves to 11-11.  Sullivan drops to 9-7.

Pacific had no problem with Valley Park 10-0.  The Indians are 12-6-2.  

Washington scored 3 goals in the second half to beat St. Charles West 4-2.  The Blue Jays improve to 12-8-1.  The Warriors slip to 8-4-1.  




Springfield Game Gets Rained Out

The Springfield Cardinals game against the Arkansas Travelers was postponed due to inclement weather at Dickey-Stephens Park yesterday. The Cardinals will play a double-header against Arkansas tomorrow. Springfield sends Pete Hansen to the mound against the Travelers tonight.



Krug, Holloway Dealing With Injures

The Blues began their offseason by announcing a pair of injuries. General manager Doug Armstrong told reporters yesterday that forward Dylan Holloway had surgery, adding that he is expected to recover before the start of next season. Meanwhile, Armstrong also said that defenseman Torey Krug may not play hockey again. The 34-year-old missed the 2024-25 campaign due to a pre-arthritic injury to his left ankle. Krug spent the last five seasons with St. Louis.



City Host Union Omaha

Cardinals Edge Pirates

The Cardinals scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1 at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals trailed by a run entering the frame before Alec Burleson hit a two-run, go-ahead double. Matthew Liberatore earned his third win after holding the Pirates to one run on three hits in seven innings. St. Louis is on a four-game winning streak. The 18-and-19 Cardinals send Sonny Gray to the mound against Pittsburgh today.



Pacers Stun Cavaliers Again, Warriors Down Timberwolves In Round Two

Two more road teams earned wins in the NBA conference semifinal round. The Pacers shocked the Cavaliers again after Tyrese Haliburton sunk a last-second three-pointer to give Indy a 2-0 East series lead. Meanwhile, the Warriors are up 1-0 out West after making easy work of the Timberwolves. Another pair of visitors hope to take 2-0 series leads tonight. The East features a matchup between the Knicks and Celtics in Boston while a showdown out West takes place between the Nuggets and Thunder from Oklahoma City.



Hurricanes And Oilers Take Game One

The Hurricanes and Oilers are leading their best of seven second round series 1-0 after a pair of Game One wins. Carolina rallied for an overtime victory in Washington, and Edmonton held off the Golden Knights in Las Vegas. Both series are back in action with Game Two Thursday night. Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers are facing off in Game Two. Toronto leads the series 1-0. Elsewhere, the Jets and Stars are getting their series underway with Game One from Winnipeg.

St. Louis Patriots outscored Union 14-12 on Senior Night.  The loss drops the Wildcats to 20-6.  

Another pitchers dual between Washington and Timberland.  The game was suspended in the bottom of the 4th due to weather and will resume Thursday.  

New Haven beat Vienna 4-3.  Drew Gildehaus posted 3 hits, 1 double, 2 runs and 2 stolen bases.  Trevor Hinton 3 hits, 1 double and 1 run.  Hinton pitched 5 1/3 innings for the win.  Jacob Gerdes closed it out for the save.  The Shamrocks improve to 7-7.  Vienna is 11-8.  

Owensville beat St. James 13-5.  The Dutchmen, now 10-8, have won 4 straight.  St. James drops to 4-14.

Borgia beat Clayton in 3.  The Knights close the regular season 15-13-1.  The Greyhounds drop to 6-8.

Maple Leafs Open Second Round With Win Over Panthers

The Maple Leafs opened the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a victory over the defending champion Panthers. Toronto leads the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal 1-0 with Game Two on Wednesday. Two more Game Ones are on tap for Tuesday night. The Capitals are hosting the Hurricanes and the Golden Knights are battling the Oilers in Las Vegas. The Jets and Stars begins their series with Game One Wednesday night in Winnipeg.



Knicks, Nuggets Take Early Semis Leads

The Knicks and Nuggets are out to early 1-0 road leads in their conference semifinals series. Out East, New York stunned the Celtics 108-105 in overtime while Denver shocked the Thunder with a 121-119 comeback win in the West. Both of those seven-game series continue on Wednesday. As for Tuesday, the Pacers hope to take a 2-0 lead on the road against the East's top-seeded Cavaliers while the Warriors and Timberwolves get down-and-dirty in Minneapolis for Game One of their West semis.

The Cardinals trailed by a run entering the inning before Willson Contreras hit a go-ahead two-run home run. Alec Burleson and Jose Barrero also went deep in the win, while Gordon Graceffo picked up his second win in relief. St. Louis is on a three-game winning streak.

Sophomore Jayce Keeler pitched a complete game 1 hitter with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in 6 innings leading Borgia to a 14-0 win over Hermann.  Borgia banged out 13 hits with Drew Eckhoff, Jase Shofner and Braxtyn Frankenberg posting 2 hits each.  The Knights improve to 12-11.  Lane Kohlbusch was the loser.  The Bearcats drop to 9-13.  

Sullivan beat St. Pius 13-6 behind 5 scoreless/hitless innings of relief by Mahlon Foster.  He struck out 7.  Chase Blue went 3 for 3 with 4 runs, 3 rbi and 2 stolen bases.  Mitchell Garner added a hit with 2 rbi and Drake Gawer posted 2 hits, 3 rbi and 2 stolen bases for the Eagles, now 14-9.  St. Pius falls to 9-11.  

Carter Martin pitched a 2 hitter with 12 strikeouts and 2 walks over 6 2/3 innings leading Warrenton to a 6-0 win over St. Charles.  Mason Thompson was 3 for 4 with a double, 1 run and 3 rbi.  The Warriors improve to 15-5.  

Timberland edged Washington 1-0 in a pitchers dual.  Mason Theis went the distance.  He scattered 6 hits with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks over 7 frames.   The Blue Jays, now 6-17, were held to 2 hits.  The Wolves improve to 15-8.  

Clayton Ingram allowed just 1 earned run in a complete game leading St. Clair to a 5-2 win at Herculaneum.  Bo Robbins had 2 hits for the Bulldogs, now 9-11.  The Black Cats fall to 7-11.  

Stoutland 4 St. James 3.  The Tigers drop to 4-13.  

Bennett Parker pitched a complete game 2 hitter with 9 strikeouts and 1 walk leading Pacific to a 6-0 win at Northwest.  Colton Kossuth was 1 for 3 with a triple and 3 rbi.  Connor Mooney was 2 for 3 with 2 runs.  The Indians move to 11-2.  The Lions fall to 5-16.

Marquette 7 Union 1.  The Wildcats fall to 9-9.  Marquette is 9-5.  

Lucy Moore, Ashley Meek and Ella Hogan all found the back of the net leading St. Clair to a 3-0 win at Owensville.  The Bulldogs, now 9-6, have won 7 straight.  Owensville is 2-16.

Pacific 4 Borgia 2.  Taylor Snider, Avery Meier and Kaitlyn Payne all found the back of the net for Pacific and Taylin Linenweber made 10 saves for her first career varsity win.  The Indians are 11-6-2.  Haylee Stieffermann and Anni Foss scored for Borgia with Foss and Dominique Murray posting the assists.  Borgia drops to 10-11.  

Washington 6 Warrenton 1.  The Blue Jays have won 3 straight to improve to 11-8-1.  Warrenton drops to 2-13.  

Blair Oaks beat St. James 2-1, dropping the Tigers to 6-11.  The Falcons improve to 10-7-1.

A throwing error allowed the winning run to score giving Borgia a 1-0 walk-off win over St. Clair in 10 innings.  Henry Zeitzmann struck out 7 and walked 1 over 7 innings in a no-decision.  Drew Eckhoff pitched 3 innings of relief with 3 strikeouts and no walks for the win.  Eckhoff, Lane Mallinkrodt and Jase Shofner posted 2 hits each.  The Knights improve to 11-11.  Easton Martin pitched all 10 innings for St. Clair in the tough-luck loss.  Bo Robbins was 2 for 4.  St. Clair drops to 8-11.  

Caden Brocato pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts and 2 walks leading Washington to a 12-1 win at St. Charles in 5 innings.  The Blue Jays, now 6-16, banged out 10 hits.  Henry Vedder was 2 for 3 with 2 rbi and Ryan Williams was 2 for 3 with 2 runs and 1 rbi.  Mason Theis and Ben Loesing scored 2 runs each.  The Pirates drop to 12-11.  Wyatt Savory was the loser.  

Montgomery County beat Hermann 9-6 in 9 innings.  Chase Romig homered with 2 rbi.  Carter Humphrey posted 1 rbi and Charlie Tyree added 1 hit and 1 rbi and was on base 4 times.  Montgomery improves to 11-5 and Hermann falls to 9-12.  

New Haven posted two wins, beating Bourbon 15-0 and Cuba 6-1.   Highlights on the day-Weston Hector 4 hits, Jacob Gerdes 4 hits.  Reid Lueckenhoff allowed 1 hit in the win against Bourbon and Anthony Groner and Jacob Gerdes combined for the win over Cuba, scattering 5 hits while striking out 10.  The Shamrocks improve to 6-7.  

Lucas Parsons allowed 1 earned run while striking out 6 in a complete game leading Sullivan to a 6-4 win over Eldon.  Raiden Redd was 3 for 4 with a double and triple.  Landen Doza went 3 for 4 with a double and Mitch Garner was 2 for 4 with a triple.  The Eagles improve to 13-9.  The Mustangs drop to 12-10.  

Landon Kramme logged 5 strikeouts and 3 walks and allowed just 2 hits over 6 innings leading Owensville to a 3-2 win at Linn.  Leyton Homeyer pitched the 7th for the save.  Jansen Loeb was 3 for 3 with a double, Logan Bailey 3-for-4.  Zaiden Gates delivered a game tying double and Jaden Gerlmann had 5 stolen bases.  The Dutchmen move to 9-8.  The Wildcats 7-14.

Duchesne beat Warrenton 3-0.  The Warriors used 5 pitchers in a bullpen game.  Jackson Nykodym pitched a complete game for the Pioneers and held Warrenton to 4 hits with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks.  Warrenton, now 14-5, had won seven straight.  Duchesne is 18-6.  


Girls Soccer
Helias 1 Union 0.  The Crusaders are 10-5. Union is 9-8.  

Washington edged Pacific 1-0 to improve to 10-8-1.  The Indians are 10-6-2.  

Villa Duchesne 5 Borgia 2.  Reese Roesch and Olivia Wunderlich scored for Borgia with Haylee Stieffermann and Abby Schutte logging the assists.  Claire Turgeon made 5 saves in net.  Borgia drops to 10-10.

Cardinals Sweep Doubleheader Against Mets

The St. Louis Cardinals earned a pair of wins over the New York Mets at Busch Stadium on Sunday. Willson Contreras had a home run and three RBI's in a 6-5 win in game one. Erick Fedde earned his second win after allowing three runs on six hits in five innings. Victor Scott-the-second hit a go-ahead double in the bottom of the sixth during a 5-4 victory in the second game. Michael McGreevy picked up the win in relief as St. Louis improved to 16-and-19. Blade Tidwell and Max Kranick were both charged with losses for New York. The Mets still lead the NL East at 22-and-13.



Blues Choke Away Game Seven

The Blues saw Game Seven slip through their fingers in a 4-3 double-overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets in the First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Blues led 3-1 with two minutes left in regulation before giving up two goals. Adam Lowry scored for Winnipeg with less than four minutes left in the second OT to end the Blues season. St. Louis dropped the best-of-seven series 4-3.



City Fall To Seattle

St. Louis City SC gave up three goals in the second half of a 4-1 loss to the Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field on Saturday. Marcel Hartel scored City's only goal. St. Louis is tied for 12th place in the Western Conference with ten points. The club hosts Union Omaha in the US Open Cup on Wednesday.



Battlehawks Beat Arlington

The St. Louis Battlehawks are on a two-game winning streak following a 12-6 win over the Arlington Renegades at The Dome at America's Center on Friday. Max Duggan rushed for 49 yards and passed for 93 yards and a touchdown. The 4-and-2 Battlehawks visit Memphis on Sunday.

Warriors Rout Rockets To Advance; Pacers Steal Game One Against Cavs

The Warriors are heading to the second round of the NBA playoffs after blowing out the Rockets 103-89 in Game Seven from Houston. The Dubs battle the Timberwolves in Game One of the West semis on Tuesday. Elsewhere, the second round of the East began with an upset when the Pacers took down the top-seeded Cavaliers 121-112 from Cleveland. Meanwhile, a pair of series-starters take place tonight. The Celtics and Knicks begin their East semifinal round in Boston while the Thunder and Nuggets battle in OKC.
