World Cup Soccer

The United States begins World Cup play Monday, renewing its rivalry with
Ghana at the Estadio das Dunas. Ghana earned a 2-1 win over the U.S. in the
final match of the group stage in 2006, knocking the Americans out of the
competition, then eliminated the U.S. in the round of 16 four years later in
South Africa. Portugal and Germany will square off to start Monday's three-
game slate, while Nigeria will battle Iran later in the afternoon.
