Washington Remains Unbeaten

The Washington Senior Legion Baseball team improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the 9th District with a 10-0 seven inning win over Pacific Post 320 Sunday evening at Ronsick Field. Spencer Juergens pitched six scoreless innings giving up three hits with nine strike outs and no walks. At the plate, Ross Seitter had four hits and Austin Finder three leading Washington's 12 hit attack.

Washington is back in action Tuesday at Wentzville. Our next broadcast game is Wednesday night at Ronsick Field when Washington hosts St. Charles. 8:30 game time on KLPW-AM 1220.

The Washington Junior Legion team beat Wentzville 10-4

The Washington Freshmen lost to St. Charles 6-1

Union Post 297 completed a doubleheader sweep beating Rock Memorial 10-6 and 11-6.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Swimmer Michael Matthews from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Michael medalled in two events at the state swim meet at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. He took 7th in the 50-Yard Freestyle and 4th in the 100-Yard Butterfly. Michael also medalled in four events in the AAA Conference meet, helping Borgia secure the conference title.

Max Pacioretty scored twice on his 26th birthday as the Canadiens cruised to a 4-1 win over the Blues at the Bell Centre. Vladimir Tarasenko scored the lone goal in the first period for St. Louis, which fell to 0-and-2 on its four-game road trip. Jake Allen allowed all four goals on 30 shots in the setback. The Blues skate in Ottawa tomorrow.
