Wacha Gets Positive News

The "St. Louis Post-Dispatch" is reporting that Michael Wacha got good news from his MRT and C-T scan on Monday. It was the third test done on Wacha's right shoulder within the last month. The organization is hoping the 23-year-old can begin a throwing program in two weeks. Wacha is 5-and-5 with a 2.79 ERA but has not been on the mound for the Cardinals since June 17th.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Baseball Player Kyle Ruediger from New Haven High School. At the plate, Kyle has a team leading .486 average with 14 rbi, two triples and six doubles. He has struck out just five times while drawing 11 walks. Kyle also has seven stolen bases on the year. He plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Early Thursday morning, I received news that vandals had broken in to St. Francis Borgia Grade School in Washington, causing extensive damage to several classrooms and offices. School was closed for the day as the Washington Police Department went about their business of securing what had changed from a school community to a crime scene overnight.
