U.S. Pounds Panama In World Cup Qualifier

Jozy Altidore and Eddie Johnson scored for the U.S. national soccer team in a 2-0 win over Panama last night at CenturyLink Field. The U.S. surged to the top of the six-team North American region standings for 2014 World Cup qualifying. The Americans have 10 points through five matches with five more qualifiers left to play. The top three teams earn automatic berths to the World Cup in Brazil next summer.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 5-6 Freshman Basketball Player Cassidy Moss from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Cassidy was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sullivan Tournament last week and was an important part of Borgia's run to the title. She is averaging 15 points and 2.5 rebounds, more than three assists and two steals per game.
