Tigers Pluck The Gamecocks

The Tigers caged the Gamecocks last night 90-68 in Columbia, South Carolina. Missouri guard Keion Bell scored 18 points in the first half and 24 on the night. Tiger's guard Jabari Brown had 23 points making 8-of-10 field goals. Missouri coach Frank Haith won his 50th game with the Tigers as Mizzou improved to 20-8 overall and 9-6 in conference. The Tigers return home to play LSU on Saturday.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Seth Schenck. The New Haven Junior won the state title in the the 800 meter run at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. Seth also took second in the 1600 meter run and anchored the 4X800 relay team that captured seventh place. Seth also played basketball and ran cross country in his junior year at New Haven. He is also a very good student.

Logan-Rogersville has advanced to the Class 4 Quarterfinal following an 8-6 win over the Sullivan Eagles Wednesday afternoon at Bank of Sullivan Park. Sullivan pitcher Seth Mesey got out of a bases loaded jam in the first inning and the Eagles grabbed a 2-1 lead after two. But the Wildcats took a 3-2 lead in the third, added three runs in the fourth and one in the sixth and went on for an 8-6 win.
