Swimming Competition Saturday

It will be the competitive debut for local area master swimmers on Saturday, as they compete in 7 different exhibition events during a meet at the Four Rivers Area YMCA. The meet, involving several metro area YMCA's, features youth age group swimmers from 4 to 18. Swimmers will compete in a range of events, including the 500 yard freestyle, the individual medley, and varying distances of all four strokes. The Four Rivers Area YMCA masters swim program is comprised of adults ages 22 and over. Both the Four Rivers YMCA Penguins youth swim team and the masters program are coached by Lane Page, former head swim coach at Parkway West High School. The first event takes place at 2:30 on saturday.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Senior Legion Baseball Player Trent Leimkuehler. Trent has put up some impressive numbers so far this season. The Post 218 Center fielder is currently hitting .551 with 20 runs batted in and 16 runs scored. He has two home runs, two triples and eight doubles. He also plays good defense in the outfield with good speed and a strong arm.
