August 9, 2014, will forever be marked in the history books as the date Michael Brown was shot by a Ferguson police officer.
It is the aftermath of that event, however, which history will forever remember. The protesters, the looters, the agitators, the Hands Up Don't Shoot movement, the dramatic announcement of the grand jury, the buildings up in flames. In the process, the community and image of Ferguson was destroyed.
The Cardinals clash with the Nationals again tonight at Busch Stadium. It's the second of their three-game series, with Marco Gonzales making his first Big League start of the year against Washington's Joe Ross, who is 5-and-5. First pitch is at 7:15 p.m. The Pirates are in town starting Friday.
