Senior Legion Baseball-Wednesday, June 25

Washington Post 218 knocked off St. Peters 14-3 at the Rec Plex. Justin Shuler didn't have his best stuff but battled through four innings giving up just two runs to get the win. Seth Bollmann and Sam Katzung had three hits apiece and Todd Kleekamp scored three times as Washington improved to 15-7 overall and 7-3 in 9th District action. Nathan Hillermann pitched the last three innings as the game was called in the 7th due to the 10-run mercy rule. Washington is back in action Friday night with a home game against Wentzville at 7:00. The game will be broadcast live on KLPW-AM 1220.

If you want to get someone's attention, whisper. That old investment brokerage ad is the opposite of what is going on regarding shootings in Ferguson and Tower Grove. When people threaten violence or blankly label one as a racist, it's very hard to listen. The same holds true for those who sum up the plight of impoverished black communities as "that's how those people are."
