Washington beat Springfield 9-1.

Friday...
Washington used three pitchers to defeat Dunklin County 12-8 at Ronsick Field Friday night. Zack Pointer started, Tyler Murray came on in the third and Trent Leimkuehler pitched the last three innings. Murray got the win and Leimkuehler the save as Washington improved to 15-3 on the year. Post 218 scored three runs in the fourth inning, added six in the fifth and three big insurance runs in the seventh. Dilan Bollmann, Noah Borgerding, Sam Katzung and Luke Hasenjaeger had two hits apiece. Washington is now 3-0 in pool play. The tournament will run through Sunday evening.

Washington is back in action Saturday with a game against Springfield. 7:30 first pitch on KLPW-AM 1220.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Golfer Brad Carpenter from Washington High School. In a recent match against Fort Zumwalt South at Wolf Hollow, Brad carded a six under par 29 to lead the team to a 148-176 win over the Bulldogs. Brad will attend Missouri State University in Springfield on a golf and academic scholarship. He started playing golf at the age of 12 and developed an immediate love for the game.

I am a woman. I would be more than happy to have more money in my paycheck. Too bad the Paycheck Fairness Act won't do that for me. Who wants "equality" if it comes because everyone makes less money?

Nonetheless, the Paycheck Fairness Act is the latest weapon in the War On Women, part II--2014 election style.

Alexander Steen's goal 26 seconds into triple overtime gave the St. Louis Blues a hard-fought victory against the rival Chicago Blackhawks, but the stakes only get higher in Game 2 on Saturday at Scottrade Center.
