Washington Post 218 continues to rack up the wins. In 9th District action Sunday evening, Washington scored five-runs in the fifth and added two more in the sixth to post a 7-0 win over Post 226 from Elsberry. Washington was getting ready to bat in the eigth when rain and lightening moved in forcing officials to cancel the remainder of the game. With the win, Washington improves to 11-3 overall and 9-0 in league action. Tyler Tuepker was the winning pitcher. He pitched eight scoreless innings giving up three hits with eight strike outs and no walks. Dilan Bollmann and Trent Leimkuehler had two hits apiece. Joe Ilgenfritz suffered the loss. Elsberry drops to 6-8 overall and 3-3 in league action.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is State Champion Wrestler Dalton Voyles from Pacific High School. Dalton won the class 3 title at 182 pounds with a 6-2 decision over Zach Courtoise of Kearney Saturday at the University of Missouri-Columbia. It caps off a tremendous season for Dalton with a 56-2 record. Dalton, who is very good on his feet, took control early in the bout in securing the win over Courtoise.

Paul Stastny netted the game-winner with 5:40 to play to give the Blues a 2-1 win over the Oilers at Rexall Place. Dmitrij Jaskin found the back of the net as well and Brian Elliot had 21 saves. The victory was St. Louis's fourth straight on the road. Ben Scrivens gave up both goals on 27 shots for Edmonton, which has dropped five of its last seven. Justin Schultz scored the Oilers' lone goal in the loss.
