Senior Legion Baseball

Washington lost to Wentzville 6-5 at Fireman's Park. Post 218 committed six errors and dropped to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in 9th District action. Justin Shuler gave up five runs, three earned, on nine hits through five innings. Sam Katzung had two hits while Noah Borgerding, Seth Bollmann and Spencer Juergens had one hit apiece.

In Junior Legion ball, Union beat Washington 12-8.

John Lackey hurled seven-and-a-third frames of shutout ball to lift the Cardinals past the Cubs, 4-0, in Game One of their National League Division Series at Busch Stadium.
