Washington Post 218 will prepare for the Blue Springs Wood Bat Tournament this week. Action begins Wednesday at the Hidden Valley Sports Complex just east of Kansas City. The Tournament will run through Sunday.

Washington will be looking to get back in the win column after losing twice Sunday at West City Park in Festus. Festus downed Washington 3-1 and then Jackson handed Washington a 3-2 set back. Washington is now 25-5 on the season.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Freshman Cross Country Runner Julia McIntyre from New Haven High School. Julia finished sixth in the state meet in Jefferson City with a time of 20:58.40 at the Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City earlier this month. She helped her team to a 12th place finish. Julia was a straight A student at Franklin County R-2 and she continues to get A's in high school.

Troy Brouwer and Robby Fabbri each scored third period goals to help the Blues rally to sink the Sabres 2-1 at the First Niagara Center. Jake Allen stopped 24 of 25 shots for St. Louis, which improved to 14-6-and-2. The Blues play at Pittsburgh tomorrow.
