Scott Beats Cabrera In Masters Playoff

Adam Scott is the 2013 Masters champion. Scott made a 12-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole to beat Angel Cabrera for his first major victory on a rainy Sunday at Augusta National. Cabrera's 18-foot birdie try curled around the hole before the 32-year-old Australian made his putt for the win. Both birdied 18 to finish regulation tied at nine-under par. It's the ninth PGA Tour win for Scott. Cabrera was seeking his second Green Jacket and third major championship. Jason Day finished alone in third place at seven-under par. Tiger Woods tied for fourth with Marc Leishman at minus-five.

August 9, 2014, will forever be marked in the history books as the date Michael Brown was shot by a Ferguson police officer.

It is the aftermath of that event, however, which history will forever remember. The protesters, the looters, the agitators, the Hands Up Don't Shoot movement, the dramatic announcement of the grand jury, the buildings up in flames. In the process, the community and image of Ferguson was destroyed.
