Reds Clip Cards In Ninth

Pinch-hitter Chris Heisey singled in the lone run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, as the Reds clipped the Cardinals 1-0 at Great American Ball Park. Michael Wacha fanned seven while giving up three hits over six frames in the no decision. Carlos Martinez suffered the loss as the Redbirds managed just three hits. The teams have split the first two of their three-game season-opening series. The series ends today. Game time is 11:35.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Sophomore Baseball Player Drew Reed with the Union Wildcats. Drew is off to a terrific start to the season. In ten official at bats, Drew has an average of .700, seven hits, five singles and two doubles, and leads the team with six runs batted in. Number one position is catcher, but coach Ryan Bailey will also use him as a pitcher.
