Rangers Edge Cardinals After Long Rain Delay

Ian Kinsler singled in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning to send the Rangers to a 2-1 win over the Cardinals after a long rain delay at Busch Stadium. Adam Wainwright was saddled with the loss for St. Louis as he was charged with two runs, one unearned, over six-and-two-thirds innings. Matt Carpenter hit a solo homer in the sixth for the Cards, who had won three out of four prior to being swept in this series. The start of the game was delayed nearly three hours by rain.
