Rams Hold Physical Practice

The Rams held a physical practice yesterday afternoon in Earth City. The team did a number of 9-on-7 drills with the offensive line, tight ends and running backs. Tight end Lance Kendricks was on the field in shoulder pads, but was not a full participant. St. Louis is gearing up for a trip to Denver where it faces the Broncos on Saturday night in the third preseason game. Today marks the final time for the public to see the team at Rams Park with practice set for 3:30.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Freshman Cross Country Runner Julia McIntyre from New Haven High School. Julia finished sixth in the state meet in Jefferson City with a time of 20:58.40 at the Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City earlier this month. She helped her team to a 12th place finish. Julia was a straight A student at Franklin County R-2 and she continues to get A's in high school.

Scottie Upshall scored the game-winning goal early in the third period to help the Blues slip by the Blue Jackets 3-1 at the Scottrade Center. Vladimir Tarasenko added his 14th goal of the season and Jake Allen made 23 saves to earn the win for St. Louis, which improved to 15-6-and-3. Ryan Johansen tallied the lone goal for Columbus, which had won two straight. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 29 of 31 shots in the loss.
