Rams Fall Short Against Falcons

The Rams fell behind 21-0 in the second quarter and lost 31-24 to the Falcons in Atlanta. Julio Jones had 11 catches for 182 yards and a touchdown for Atlanta. Sam Bradford threw for 352 yards, three touchdowns and an interception as the Rams dropped to 1-and-1. Tavon Austin had two TD catches in defeat. The Rams next game is Sunday at Dallas.

The Rams faced former running back Steven Jackson for the first time yesterday. He had just three carries for a net zero yards, but did have an eight-yard touchdown reception. Jackson left the game with a thigh injury and did not return. The Rams' all-time rushing leader signed with the Falcons as a free agent after nine seasons with St. Louis.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Legion Baseball Player Spencer Juergens from Washington Post 218. As a pitcher, Spencer is currently 7-0 with 36 strike outs and only four walks. He's given up seven runs, three earned over 43 innings and his ERA is .736. As a hitter, Spencer's average is .520 with 16 rbi's and 13 runs scored. In 44 official at bats, Spencer has struck out just five times with two walks.

The shootings at Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, however, stands out for two main reasons.

It involved race, and it was done it a church.
