Phillies Top Cardinals

A.J. Burnett allowed one run in the complete game as the Phillies defeated the Cardinals 5-1 at Busch Stadium. Burnett improved to 5-and-6 for Philadelphia, which has won five straight. Marlon Byrd hit a solo homer while Jimmy Rollins knocked in two runs. Matt Holliday drove in the only run for St. Louis, which has lost three in-a-row. Jaime Garcia allowed four runs and struck out seven in five-plus frames for the loss.

Missouri State's Nathan Scheer was one of nearly 900 men's college basketball players recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches with the release of the 2013-14 NABC Honors Court. To be recognized on the Honors Court, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior varsity player with a cumulative 3.20 grade point average or higher at the conclusion of the season.
