Panthers Top Rams

Cam Newton threw for 204 yards and a touchdown on 15-of-17 passing as the Panthers topped the Rams 30-15 at Bank of America Stadium. Sam Bradford was 21-of-30 for 255 yards with a TD and an interception before leaving in the fourth quarter with a leg injury. Zac Stacy had 17 carries for 53 yards to go with four catches for 34 yards and a score in defeat. St. Louis slipped to 3-and-4. The Rams host the Seahawks on Monday, October 28th.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Post 218 Senior Legion Baseball Player Aaron Meyer. Aaron is a pitcher and third basemen for the team this summer. He has hit third in the order and has maintained an average above .300 throughout the season. His current average is .321 with an on base percentage of .396. Aaron leads the team with 22 RBI, two home runs and two triples He has also scored 15 runs.

There are few things more inspiring in life than watching an octogenarain with two hip replacements swimming a 200 yard race, or guys in their late 70's playing some pretty vigorous 3 on 3 basketball. A generation of baby boomers is learning that, while they can't reverse age, they certainly can embrace life!

Evan Boehm and Markus Golden have both been named to pre-season award watch lists. Boehm is on the Outland Trophy Watch List which is given to the top interior lineman on either side of the ball. Boehm is one of 64 players up for the award. Golden was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy which goes to the nation's top defensive player overall. Golden grabbed six-and-a-half-sacks and played in only 40-percent of the snaps last season.
