NHL Cancels Games Through December 30th

The NHL is cancelling more regular season games due to the ongoing labor stalemate between owners and players. Games through December 30th have now been called off. The league had previously wiped out games through December 14th as well as the Winter Classic and All-Star Game.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Post 218 Senior Legion Baseball Player Aaron Meyer. Aaron is a pitcher and third basemen for the team this summer. He has hit third in the order and has maintained an average above .300 throughout the season. His current average is .321 with an on base percentage of .396. Aaron leads the team with 22 RBI, two home runs and two triples He has also scored 15 runs.

The St. Louis Blues have re-signed forward Steve Ott to a two-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed. Ott joined the Blues last February in a trade with Buffalo and posted three assists with 37 penalty minutes in 23 regular-season games for the Blues. He added two assists in six playoff games.
