Molina Suffers Thumb Injury

The Cardinals All-Star catcher Yadier Molina was forced to leave yesterday's game against the Pirates because of a sprained right thumb. Manager Mike Matheny said that Molina underwent an MRI and will have the results today. The 31-year-old All-Star is batting .285 with 30 RBI for St. Louis this season.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Union Senior Bethany Coons. Bethany finished the basketball season at Union averaging 11 points and eight assists per game. Coach Dusty Weiskopf says Bethany is good at handling the basketball and teams would find it difficult to press Union when Bethany was in the game because of her lateral movement. When combining her scoring and assist averages, Bethany was contributing about 25 points per game.
