Missouri Tops No. 18 UCLA, 80-71

With an 80-71 win over No. 18 UCLA Saturday afternoon, Mizzou Men's Basketball moves to 9-0 on the season and extends their non-conference home winning streak to 79 games and their nation-best active home winning streak to 24 games. This is the Tigers' first victory over a ranked opponent during their non-conference home winning streak that has spanned almost eight seasons.For the second time this season Jabari Brown, Jordan Clarkson and Earnest Rosseach scored at least 20 points. The big three once again dominated the Tiger scoring, contributing 63 of the team's 80 points. Brown led the group with 22, Clarkson contributed 21 and Ross finished with 20. Ross, a native of Cary, N.C., had one of his most complete performances of the season. The senior battled for possession, disrupted the UCLA defense and was a crucial factor in the Tigers comeback, with 15 of his points coming in the second half.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Post 218 Senior Legion Baseball Player Aaron Meyer. Aaron is a pitcher and third basemen for the team this summer. He has hit third in the order and has maintained an average above .300 throughout the season. His current average is .321 with an on base percentage of .396. Aaron leads the team with 22 RBI, two home runs and two triples He has also scored 15 runs.

There are few things more inspiring in life than watching an octogenarain with two hip replacements swimming a 200 yard race, or guys in their late 70's playing some pretty vigorous 3 on 3 basketball. A generation of baby boomers is learning that, while they can't reverse age, they certainly can embrace life!

Washington improved to 2-0 in pool play at the Blue Springs Wood Bat Tournament with a 4-2 win over Bellevue, Nebraska Thursday afternoon. Mitch Hammack pitched a complete game with five strike outs and three walks. Nick Thiel and Ross Seitter had two hits apiece. Thiel, Seth Bollmann and Sam Katzung had one rbi each. Washington improved to 24-9 on the season.
