Michael Sam Congratulates Gay ASU Lineman For His Courage

Michael Sam is offering words of encouragement to Arizona State University football player Chip Sarafin. Sam, who became the first openly gay football player to be drafted by the NFL this year, reached out to Sarafin via Twitter after the six-foot-six offensive lineman came out as gay in the Phoenix-based magazine "Compete." Sarafin is believed to be the first openly gay college player to publicly come out while still playing.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 5-6 Freshman Basketball Player Cassidy Moss from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Cassidy was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sullivan Tournament last week and was an important part of Borgia's run to the title. She is averaging 15 points and 2.5 rebounds, more than three assists and two steals per game.
