Mets Hold Off Cards To Avoid Sweep

Eric Young Jr. had a pair of run-scoring doubles as the Mets edged the Cardinals 3-2 at Busch Stadium. Lance Lynn gave up two runs in six frames to fall to 7-and-5. Matt Carpenter homered and Allen Craig singled in a run for St. Louis, which had won five in-a-row. The Cards start a four-game series with the Phillies tonight.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 5-6 Freshman Basketball Player Cassidy Moss from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Cassidy was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sullivan Tournament last week and was an important part of Borgia's run to the title. She is averaging 15 points and 2.5 rebounds, more than three assists and two steals per game.
