MacTavish Named Oilers GM

Former St. Louis Blues player Craig MacTavish is now the general manager of the Edmonton Oilers. The 54-year-old replaces Steve Tambellini, who was fired on Monday. The Oilers have lost five straight to fall to 16-18-and-7 on the season with 39 points. MacTavish concluded his 17-year playing career with the Blues in the 1996-97 season.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 5-6 Freshman Basketball Player Cassidy Moss from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Cassidy was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sullivan Tournament last week and was an important part of Borgia's run to the title. She is averaging 15 points and 2.5 rebounds, more than three assists and two steals per game.
