Cross Country...
The Four Rivers Conference meet was held Tuesday in New Haven. The top three boys teams were Sullivan, New Haven and Owensville. The top three individual runners were Seth Schenck of New Haven, Randy Swaller of Sullivan and Mark Johnson of Sullivan.
The top three girls teams were Owensville, Pacific and St. Clair. Top three individuals were Karinne Lane of Hermann, Emily Ellis of Owensville and Lyndssay Hardin of
St. Clair.

Volleyball...
Hermann finished undefeated in the Four Rivers Confernce at 7-0 with a straight set win over St. James.
New Haven took second in the league with a three set win over Owensville 25-14 22-25 25-16.
Washington wrapped up GAC Central action with a perfect 8-0 record following a 27-25 25-22 win over Holt
Lutheran-St. Charles defeated Borgia 20-25 29-27 25-22. The Knights drop to 26-3-1
Pacific over St. Clair in two sets
St. Charles topped Warrenton in two
Sullivan beat Union 25-23 15-25 25-20

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Gus Kleekamp with the Washington Junior Legion Baseball Team. Gus played shortstop and occasionally pitched during the season. His numbers are impressive. Batting average .409, on-base percentage .504 with a slugging percentage of .582. Gus lead the team not only with his average but also in RBI with 26, triples with five and stolen bases with 28.

There are few things more inspiring in life than watching an octogenarain with two hip replacements swimming a 200 yard race, or guys in their late 70's playing some pretty vigorous 3 on 3 basketball. A generation of baby boomers is learning that, while they can't reverse age, they certainly can embrace life!

After a day off, the Cardinals return to the diamond tonight for the first of a three-game series with the Padres from Petco Park. St. Louis is 56-and-48 this season and trots Lance Lynn to the hill. Lynn is 11-and-7 with a 3.05 ERA. San Diego counters with 9-and-10 Tyson Ross who has a 2.65 ERA this season. First pitch is at 9:10.
