The New Haven Shamrocks scored three runs in the seventh to beat the St. Clair Bulldogs 8-5. Garrett Schoenfeld was the winning pitcher in relief of starter Austin Madden. Tyler Strobel had a good day at the plate with two hits and two batted in.

Owensville hosted a three team match...
Cuba took first with a 152, Owensville was second with a 157 followed by Hermann with a 181.

Girls Soccer...
Sullivan blanked St. James 7-0

Borgia topped Kennedy 2-0

Fort Zumwalt South downed Washington 2-0

Boys Volleyball...
Bayless defeated Borgia in two sets 26-24 25-8

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Borgia Freshman Golfer Thomas Alferman. Alferman is a member of the Borgia team that qualified for the state tournament at Silo Ridge in Boliver this week. In the district tournament at the Sullivan Country Club, Thomas shot a 13 over par 84 helping the team to a second place finish.

Commencement, it is said, is a beginning. Yet graduations are also the end of an era--for students and their parents. For the kids, it's a time of excitement and promise. For parents, it's a bit more bittersweet.

What will the future hold for the Class of 2015? Time will tell.

My youngest has now graduated from high school. Back in 1980, I was the youngest of my family who graduated.

The Royals could have played with just two players and been fine in a 5-0 shutout of the Cardinals from Kauffman Stadium. Chris Young fired six innings of six-hit ball to improve to 4-and-0. Young walked two and struck out two as the Royals picked up their fourth straight win. Kendrys Morales took care of the offense with a five RBI night. Morales belted a three-run and a two-run home run in the first and third innings.
