Baseball...
New Haven scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat Bourbon 7-6 at the New Haven Legion Field. Austin Madden posted the win in relief. Ross Seitter had a good day at the plate with three hits and two batted in.

Fort Zumwalt East beat Washington 4-3 in eight innings.

Warrenton topped Orchard Farm 4-3

North County over Union 7-1. Union hurt themselves with eight errors.

Golf...
Pacific defeated St. Clair 179-188. Pacific's Brendan Jett-Kell earned the medal with a score of 37.

St. James won a tri-match on their home course with a 180. Union was second with a 208 and Hermann was third with a 210. Colin Hart of Hermann was the medallist with a score of six over par 42.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 6-0 Senior Forward Megan Jensen with the St. Francis Borgia Girls Basketball Team. Megan scored 24 points leading Borgia to a 52-47 win over Cardinal Ritter in the championship game of the Borgia/Competitive Edge Tournament Saturday afternoon. In three tournament games last week. Megan scored 63 points and earned MVP honors.

When our daughter turned 13, as part of her birthday celebration we drove 13 seventh-grade girls to the mall. As one of the drivers, I can attest that a vanload of young adolescent girls generates plenty of chatter...and plenty of drama.

The Blues piled up three first period goals as they knocked off the Panthers, 5-3 at the BB&T Center. David Backes, Jaden Schwartz, and Robby Fabbri all scored in the final eight minutes of the first period to put St. Louis up for good. Brian Elliott had 29 saves in the win. Jonathan Huberdeau had a goal and assist for the Panthers, who have lost three of four. Roberto Luongo gave up three goals on 13 shots before getting pulled.
