August 9, 2014, will forever be marked in the history books as the date Michael Brown was shot by a Ferguson police officer.
It is the aftermath of that event, however, which history will forever remember. The protesters, the looters, the agitators, the Hands Up Don't Shoot movement, the dramatic announcement of the grand jury, the buildings up in flames. In the process, the community and image of Ferguson was destroyed.
Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta has thrown the sixth no-hitter of the season. Arrieta kept the Dodgers hitless in Chicago's 2-0 win Sunday night in Los Angeles. Arrieta struck out 12, walked one and threw 116 pitches in the first no-hitter of his career. Kris Bryant provided all the run support Arrieta needed with a two-run homer in the first. Chicago avoided a three-game sweep and snapped a four-game losing streak with the victory.
