A successful season came to an end for the St. Francis Borgia Knight soccer team Tuesday evening. Borgia lost to the Rolla Bulldogs 2-0 in the Class 2 Sectional playoff game. The final record of 4-15 does not accurately reflect the team Borgia had this year. Rolla will advance to the quarterfinal and play at Carthage at 2:00 Saturday afternoon. Carthage shut out Willard 5-0 last evening.
The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Anna Houston with the Union Track and Field Team. She was recently named the Girls Outstanding Performer in the Four Rivers Conference Meet at St. Clair High School. Anna ran in the district meet in Jefferson City Saturday and qualified for the sectional in the 100 and 300 hurdles, the long jump and the 4X400 Relay.
Undoubtedly, the capture of Boston marathon bombing "Suspect #2"--as named by law enforcement--has quickly brought the issue of Islamic terrorism to the forefront.
