St. James is heading into the Christmas break with an undefeated record. The Tigers posted a 70-55 win over Potosi, improving to 10-0 under coach Ben Smith.

Owensville knocked off Steelville 47-43.

Union downed Eldon 61-51. Alyssa Coons and Whitney Vitt scored 14 apiece. Rachel Bassett and Bethany Coons each added 13 points.

New Haven 59 Bourbon 26. Rachel Steinhoff led the way with 14 points. Emily Kallmeyer pumped in 13.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Seth Schenck. The New Haven Junior won the state title in the the 800 meter run at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. His time of 1:59.20 set a new school record. Seth also took second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:30.49 and anchored the 4X800 relay team that captured seventh place. Seth also played basketball and ran cross country in his junior year at New Haven.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association State Track and Field Championships get underway Friday in Classes 3 and 4. 70 local athletes representing, Washington, Borgia, Union, St. Clair, Pacific, Sullivan, Warrenton, Owensville and St. James will compete in the two day event at Lincoln University in Jefferson City.
