Local High School Baseball

Logan-Rogersville has advanced to the Class 4 Quarterfinal following an 8-6 win over the Sullivan Eagles Wednesday afternoon at Bank of Sullivan Park. Sullivan pitcher Seth Mesey got out of a bases loaded jam in the first inning and the Eagles grabbed a 2-1 lead after two. But the Wildcats took a 3-2 lead in the third, added three runs in the fourth and one in the sixth and went on for an 8-6 win. Logan-Rogersville will host Warrensburg in the quarterfinal today with the winner advancing to state. The Sullivan Eagles end the season with a 19-7 record.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Sophomore Guard Kyra Hardesty. Kyra scored 59 points in a game against Pacific leading the Lady Jays to an 85-80 overtime win over the Lady Indians. She shot 61% from the floor, hit 20-of-33 field goal attempts, seven of 11 beyond the arc and 12-of-15 free throws. For the season, Kyra is averaging 21.4 points, three rebounds, 3.72 assists and 2.24 steals per game.
