Linn beat Hermann 61-40. Jesse Wiggins scored 22 points for Linn and Hermann was paced by Craig Winkelmann with 14. The Bearcats have dropped to 0-3.

Girls...
Washington beat New Haven 67-39. Courtney Kedroski pumped in 19 and Paige Carpenter added a dozen for Washington. New Haven was led by Rachel Steinhoff with 16.

St. James improved to 4-0 with a 62-26 win over Cuba. Shauna Rinehart pumped in 14 and Devin Fuhring chipped in 12.

Hermann posted a 60-18 win over Linn with Jamie Gleeson leading the way with 21 points.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Legion Baseball Player Spencer Juergens from Washington Post 218. As a pitcher, Spencer is currently 7-0 with 36 strike outs and only four walks. He's given up seven runs, three earned over 43 innings and his ERA is .736. As a hitter, Spencer's average is .520 with 16 rbi's and 13 runs scored. Over the course of the past 16 years doing commentary on air and in print, there have sadly been many mass shootings and many predictable politicized reactions.

The shootings at Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, however, stands out for two main reasons.

It involved race, and it was done it a church.
