St. James 52 New Haven 47 in overtime. Seth Schenck hit a 60-footer at the end of regulation to tie it up at 42. St. James outscored the Rocks 10-5 in the extra period. St. James improves to 4-1 in the Four Rivers Conference, while New Haven drops to 1-4.

Versailles 70 Hermann 56. Collin Hart scored 16 for Hermann followed by Craig Winkelmann with 13 and Mathew Hug with 11. The Bearcats drop to 9-14 on the season.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Junior Basketball Player Hailey Diestelkamp with the Owensville Dutchgirls. She recently became the all-time scoring leader at Owensville High School surpassing Katie Davis. Hailey played volleyball her first two years of high school, but after suffering an injury playing basketball last summer, she decided to focus on basketball this year. Hailey runs track in the spring.

It came as a shock to a lot of people to find out that the contract for the Union license office, which has been operated by the Union Chamber of Commerce since the 1970's, was being turned over to a for-profit company based out of Jefferson City.

What happened? It's a classic case of two all-too-common phenomena in the world of government--unintended consequences and the revolving door.

Saint Louis erased a nine-point second half deficit and had a shot to win it late, but fell 60-56 against UMass Saturday in a thrilling Atlantic 10 Conference game at Chaifetz Arena. It was the fourth loss in a row for the Billikens, who fall to 9-12 overall and 1-7 in league play. UMass improves to 12-9 overall and 5-3 in the A-10. The Billikens had the ball down by two with the shot clock off.
