The 2013 St. Francis Borgia/Pepsi Thanksgiving Tournament tipped off with three games. Washington had no problem with Union 81-53. Ronnie Suggs paced the Jays with 24 points and Jacob Mulky followed with 20. Nick Ziegler scored 13 for the Wildcats.

There were a trio of girls games last night as well...
New Haven beat Wright City 57-21. Rachel Steinhoff scored 16 for the Shamrocks and Kayla Meyer pumped in 10
Warrenton beat Union 55-50
Owensville held on for a 44-36 win over Chamois.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Sophomore Guard Kyra Hardesty. Kyra scored 59 points in a game against Pacific leading the Lady Jays to an 85-80 overtime win over the Lady Indians. She shot 61% from the floor, hit 20-of-33 field goal attempts, seven of 11 beyond the arc and 12-of-15 free throws. For the season, Kyra is averaging 21.4 points, three rebounds, 3.72 assists and 2.24 steals per game.

Lafayette 66 Washington 36. Cameron Scales pumped in 18 to lead the Lancers. Zach Steinberg and Justin Zadoks added 11 each. Lafayette advances to the championship game with a 24-3 record. Mike Morgan paced Washington with 11 points. The Jays end the year with a 12-15 mark under coach Grant Young.
