The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Legion Baseball Player Spencer Juergens from Washington Post 218. As a pitcher, Spencer is currently 6-0 with 32 strike outs and only four walks. The shootings at Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, however, stands out for two main reasons.

It involved race, and it was done it a church.

Washington Post 218 improved to 16-1 overall and 11-1 in the 9th district with a doubleheader sweep of O'Fallon Sunday at Ronsick Field. In game one, Washington jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first inning on route to an 11-4 win. Matt Miller made it stand with a complete game three hitter with 13 strike outs and three walks. Justin Baylard doubled twice and Ross Seitter had a pair of singles.
Game two final 7-1.
