Giants Double Up Cardinals

Buster Posey was 4-for-4 with a run scored as the Giants doubled up the Cardinals, 4-2 to avoid a series sweep. Tyler Lyons allowed four runs in six-and-a-third frames for the loss. David Freese hit a two-run shot for St. Louis. Yadier Molina and manager Mike Matheny were ejected in the third inning for arguing. The Cards open a four-game series against Arizona tonight.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Union Senior Bethany Coons. Bethany finished the basketball season at Union averaging 11 points and eight assists per game. Coach Dusty Weiskopf says Bethany is good at handling the basketball and teams would find it difficult to press Union when Bethany was in the game because of her lateral movement. When combining her scoring and assist averages, Bethany was contributing about 25 points per game.
