Diamondbacks Outlast Cardinals In 14

The Diamondbacks plated a run in the top of the 14th inning with Paul Goldschmidt's one-out single, and Heath Bell worked a scoreless inning to help the Diamondbacks get by the Cardinals 7-6. David Freese had four hits and Allen Craig and Shane Robinson hit home runs for the Cards. Victor Marte took the loss after giving up the go-ahead run in the 14th.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 6-3 Senior Guard Walton Eckelkamp of the St. Francis Borgia Basketball Team. Walton was the MVP of the Union Tournament last week. He scored 21 points in the championship leading Borgia to a 66-54 win over Columbia Rock Bridge. He hit four three's, dished out four assists and pulled down three rebounds.

The Blues ripped off three goals in the second period as they blitzed the Wild, 4-1 at the Scottrade Center. Vladimir Tarasenko scored his 26th goal of the year to start the scoring, with Jori Lehtera and Paul Stastny each adding goals in the second. Troy Brouwer added a goal in the third for St. Louis. Matt Dumba scored the lone goal for Minnesota, which has lost 10 of its past 11 games.
