Missouri Tops Mississippi State in OT, 89-85, for Fourth-Straight Win

Mizzou Men's Basketball (17-8, 7-5) avenged an earlier loss to Mississippi State (18-7, 6-6) by defeating the Bulldogs in exhilarating fashion, 89-85, in overtime on Saturday afternoon. While it seemed that the Tigers were in control late in the second half, the Bulldogs responded quickly by forcing the game into overtime. Some late heroics by junior forward Kevin Puryear and the Tigers proved to be the deciding factor as Mizzou pulled away with the victory.

Graduate senior guard Kassius Robertson had another standout game as he recorded a team-high 22 points for his seventh 20-point SEC game this season. Junior guard Jordan Geist scored 17, the most for him in a conference game this season, adding four three-pointers. Senior forward Jordan Barnett added 15 points to the team's total as he secured his 14th game of the season with at least 15 points. Barnett also contributed on the boards with a team-high eight rebounds.

Mizzou's hot streak continued as the Tigers have won four-straight games. The streak is significant in that it represents the longest conference winning streak since the 2011-2012 season, and the longest SEC winning streak since joining the conference.
