Local High School Sports-Wednesday, October 11th

Softball-Sectionals

Class 4-Marquette 5 Washington 2.  Washington jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a two run homer by Ellie Quaethem, but Annah Junge answered with a two run bomb in the bottom of the frame to tie it up.  The game remained tied at 2-2 until the fifth when the Mustangs scored three runs aided in part by three Washington errors.  Junge held the Blue Jays to three hits.  She posted 10 strike outs and two walks.  Washington ends the season with a 20-9 record.  Marquette advances to the quarterfinal with a 26-3 record.  

Class 3-Borgia at Festus-Postponed Wednesday and rescheduled Thursday at 4:30

Class 3-Sullivan 2 Osage 1.  Hannah Cox and Kamryn Lohden both homered for the Eagles.  Sullivan advances to the quarterfinal Saturday with a 27-2 record.

Soccer

Washington 2 Pacific 1.  Conlan Jarvis scored both goals for Washington, now 19-7.  Gavin Bukowsky scored for Pacific.  The Indians drop to 9-8.

Sullivan 3 Dixon 1.  Owen Mercer scored for the Eagles.

Volleyball

Borgia beat Duchesne in two sets 25-12 25-21.
