Castillo's Blast Sends Cubs Past Cards

Welington Castillo blasted a three-run homer in the top of the 11th as the Cubs went on to a 6-3 win over the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. Nate Schierholtz was 4-for-5 with an RBI while Ryan Sweeney went 2-for-4 and knocked one in for Chicago, which has won two of three. Jeff Samardzija tossed seven innings of one-run ball but the bullpen couldn't hold it. Justin Grimm notched the win in relief while Hector Rondon got the save. Matt Carpenter went 1-for-3 and tied the game in the ninth with a sac-fly for St. Louis. Matt Adams and Yadier Molina each had two hits while Joe Kelly surrendered an unearned run over six innings in the start.
