Carpenter Makes Rehab Start

Chris Carpenter made his first rehab start last night for the Cardinals Double-A affiliate, the Springfield Cardinals. Carpenter allowed six hits and three runs, two of which were earned, in two-and-two-thirds innings. Carpenter struck out five and walked two as he took the loss. In other Cards news, pitcher Keith Butler was sent down to Triple-A Memphis.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 5-6 Freshman Basketball Player Cassidy Moss from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Cassidy was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sullivan Tournament last week and was an important part of Borgia's run to the title. She is averaging 15 points and 2.5 rebounds, more than three assists and two steals per game.
