Carpenter Comes Up Short Of 200 Hits

Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter came up short in his bid for a 200 hits. He finished Sunday's regular season finale 0-for-4, striking out in his final at-bat in the seventh inning. Carpenter still tallied a National League leading 199 hits. He batted .318 and led the Senior Circuit with 55 doubles, 63 multi-hit games and 126 runs scored.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is St. Francis Borgia Baseball Player Justin Horace. Justin is one of the team leaders at the plate with a .371 average, two home runs and 17 rbi. He bats third in the lineup and is a solid defender at second base. Justin had a double in Monday's 3-0 loss to Lutheran-St. Charles. Justin has been a good hitter since he started playing as a youngster.
