Matt Adams hit a three-run homer and Jon Jay added a solo shot as part of a four-run first inning that helped the St. Louis Cardinals down the Washington Nationals, 5-1, in spring training action. Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright surrendered just a run on three hits and a walk over six solid innings. Steve Lombardozzi had the lone RBI for Washington. Starter Dan Haren allowed five runs and six hits over five innings.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 5-6 Freshman Basketball Player Cassidy Moss from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Cassidy was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sullivan Tournament last week and was an important part of Borgia's run to the title. She is averaging 15 points and 2.5 rebounds, more than three assists and two steals per game.
