Cards Fall To Mets

The Cardinals walked in two during the fourth inning and surrendered a solo shot in the sixth to give the Mets a 3-1 win at Citi Field. Michael Wacha struck out 10, but only made it through four innings and gave up two runs to drop to 2-and-2. Matt Carpenter had four hits and Yadier Molina drove the teams lone run. St. Louis drops to 12-and-10 with the loss.

The Cardinals and Mets close out their four-game series at Citi Field this afternoon. Lance Lynn puts his 4-and-0 mark on the line against New York's Bartolo Colon, who is 1-and-3. First pitch is at 12:10 p.m. The Cards return home to host the Pirates starting tomorrow.

OFF THE CUFF with Diane Jones

On March 24, 2015, Lufthansa Airlines pilot Andreas Lubitz steered a planeful of passengers into the French Alps, killing 150 people in a grisly act of murder/suicide.

The logical first question the world is asking is why? We ask this not only to make some sort of rational sense out of the irrational act, but also so that we can try to prevent something like it from happening again.
