Cards Double Up Brewers

Matt Holliday singled in a pair of runs in the opening inning to help the Cardinals beat the Brewers, 4-2, at Busch Stadium. Yadier Molina went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Matt Carpenter doubled in a run to help St. Louis get back above .500 for the first time since Opening Day. Lance Lynn tossed five innings of one-run ball to pick up the win and Trevor Rosenthal closed it out for his third save.

OFF THE CUFF with Diane Jones

August 9, 2014, will forever be marked in the history books as the date Michael Brown was shot by a Ferguson police officer.

It is the aftermath of that event, however, which history will forever remember. The protesters, the looters, the agitators, the Hands Up Don't Shoot movement, the dramatic announcement of the grand jury, the buildings up in flames. In the process, the community and image of Ferguson was destroyed.
