Cards Close Set With Crew

The Cardinals and Brewers close out their three-game series from Busch Stadium this afternoon. Shelby Miller takes a 2-and-2 record to the mound for the Redbirds. Milwaukee counters with Matt Garza, who is 1-and-2. First pitch is set for 12:45.

The Brewers plated a run in the top of the 11th to edge the Cardinals 5-4 last night at Busch Stadium. Yadier Molina hit a three-run homer and Allen Craig tripled in a run for St. Louis. Kevin Siegrist took the loss after starter Lance Lynn threw five innings of three-run ball.

Cardinals youngster Randall Grichuk made his first start last night, playing in center field and batting seventh. Grichuk went 1-for-5 but struck out three times in the loss. He was recalled along with Greg Garcia earlier this week from Triple-A Memphis.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Freshman Cross Country Runner Julia McIntyre from New Haven High School. Julia finished sixth in the state meet in Jefferson City with a time of 20:58.40 at the Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City earlier this month. She helped her team to a 12th place finish. Julia was a straight A student at Franklin County R-2 and she continues to get A's in high school.

Andy Dalton tossed three touchdowns, including two to A.J. Green as the Bengals bashed the Rams, 31-7 at Paul Brown Stadium. Dalton hit Green for scores in the first and third quarters, and threw one to Tyler Eifert in the second for the 9-and-2 Bengals. Leon Hall had a 19-yard pick-six as Cincinnati intercepted Nick Foles three times in the win. Foles threw for 228 yards in the Rams' fourth straight loss.
