Commencement, it is said, is a beginning. Yet graduations are also the end of an era--for students and their parents. For the kids, it's a time of excitement and promise. For parents, it's a bit more bittersweet.

Cardinals outfielder Jon Jay is getting close to returning from the disabled list. He has started a minor league rehab assignment at Class-A Peoria as he works his way back from a tendinitis in his left wrist. Jay is expected to be activated for Friday's home game against the Dodgers.
