Cardinals Top Royals

Matt Carpenter was 5-for-5 with two RBI and two runs to guide the Cardinals to a 5-2 win over the Royals in 11 innings. Allen Craig knocked in two more runs for St. Louis, which snapped a three-game slide. Adam Wainwright struck out eight and allowed two runs over eight innings while Sam Freeman picked up the win. Pat Neshek locked up the save. The Cards and Royals end the set tonight.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 5-6 Freshman Basketball Player Cassidy Moss from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Cassidy was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sullivan Tournament last week and was an important part of Borgia's run to the title. She is averaging 15 points and 2.5 rebounds, more than three assists and two steals per game.
